After moving to the country we were finally able to fulfill a long-term dream and get some
farm animals in addition to dogs. Our sheep, goats and chickens represent native
Finnish breeds, which are
unfortunately fairly rare these days and in need of conservation. Further information about

Sheep:
Kainuu Grey and Åland sheep Our small flock comprises of Kainuu Grey a.k.a. Finnish
Grey landrace sheep, and a few Åland sheep. We hope to be of help in conservation of
these rare Finnish
treasures. This year's lambing will start in early May :)

Goats Ansa and Ella (named after famous
Finnish actresses) are Finn goats,
both horned.

Chickens: Alho strain Our chickens
represent Finnish landrace, and strain called "Alho" originating from
Eastern Finland. Currently we have 9 chickens: 4 that we started with, and 5
homebred ones. And a cockerel of course :)

Tomcat Taisto Taisto ended up here on the
"Farm" page as I guess he doesn't really match the title "Dogs"
either :).
Taisto is a blue and white tomcat born in October 2007, and has already proven
his skills in mouse catching.
